Delphi Labs’s goal is to make crypto happen better and faster than it would without us. In our 5 years in crypto, we’ve gained a lot of experience consulting with, investing in, and building successful protocols. We know first-hand how hard it is to build a crypto startup and we’ve experienced all the common pitfalls. Our goal with the Accelerator is to transmit the lessons we’ve learned and help build the next generation of important protocols. The first cohort will be focused on Cosmos since this is the ecosystem we identified as the most promising in our “Finding a New Home for Labs” report. It’s also the one we understand best and where we feel like we can have the largest impact.
One of the areas where we feel we can be most valuable to teams is ideation. We find most teams, even talented ones, end up solving the wrong problems. In many cases, their solutions reveal a lack of understanding of the landscape they’re building in, both past and current. We have strong opinions about what we feel needs to be built in the space across all verticals, and we’ve followed their evolution such that we understand the design tradeoff space and the pitfalls of particular choices.
Our goal with this post is to put forward a list of ideas that we’re excited to see built in the Cosmos. For each idea, we’ll include: high-level design outline, what chain we feel this would be most appropriate to build on, an example of a byte-sized MVP that could be completed in the period of a hackathon, as well as at least one mentor who will be working with teams interested in exploring this idea further.
